I love fish and nature. I have recently started working on a series of fish. This is a fairly traditional painting of a yellowfin tuna. I chose to use fairly saturated blues and yellows to make the fish pop. Maybe this will inspire you on your next fishing trip.
Greensboro based artist, John Gibbs, has been painting since early 2000. While working in Chicago as an Art Director he began painting as a more personal creative outlet. His work is still influenced by his work in computer graphics and commercial art. John’s work has been seeking a balance between representation and abstraction or ambiguity. John draws inspiration from landscapes, people, animals, and things. Through the creative process of rendering these things he shows the viewer a different perspective and interpretation from his life experience.
