John Gibbs

Greensboro based artist, John Gibbs, has been painting since early 2000. While working in Chicago as an Art Director he began painting as a more personal creative outlet. His work is still influenced by his work in computer graphics and commercial art. John’s work has been seeking a balance between representation and abstraction or ambiguity. John draws inspiration from landscapes, people, animals, and things. Through the creative process of rendering these things he shows the viewer a different perspective and interpretation from his life experience.  John’s work is recognizable by its use of intense colors, cloud scapes, line work, and graphic style.
