As many artists are, I am inspired by the beauty of nature. Though I don't want to just reproduce what could be a photograph or something similar. I want to show the artists hand and reinterpretation that comes from the artists inspiration. I wanted this to be a graphic painting and to emphasize that I added the color bar at the bottom showing the pallet.

Greensboro based artist, John Gibbs, has been painting since early 2000. While working in Chicago as an Art Director he began painting as a more personal creative outlet. His work is still influenced by his work in computer graphics and commercial art. John’s work has been seeking a balance between representation and abstraction or ambiguity. John draws inspiration from landscapes, people, animals, and things. Through the creative process of rendering these things he shows the viewer a different perspective and interpretation from his life experience.  John’s work is recognizable by its use of intense colors, cloud scapes, line work, and graphic style.
