I recently went back over this painting and made the clouds lighter and more transparent looking with the light from the moon showing through the outer edges and picking up the shapes of the clouds more. I think it makes for a brighter more silver lining look.
Greensboro based artist, John Gibbs, has been painting since early 2000. While working in Chicago as an Art Director he began painting as a more personal creative outlet. His work is still influenced by his work in computer graphics and commercial art. John’s work has been seeking a balance between representation and abstraction or ambiguity. John draws inspiration from landscapes, people, animals, and things.
