I painted this about a year ago for a donation piece for the Visual Arts Center. It is an abstracted chair that represents the feeling of being painted in a corner by certain life obligations and confusion the dilemma can cause.
About John Gibbs
Greensboro based artist, John Gibbs, has been painting since early 2000. While working in Chicago as an Art Director he began painting as a more personal creative outlet. His work is still influenced by his work in computer graphics and commercial art. John’s work has been seeking a balance between representation and abstraction or ambiguity. John draws inspiration from landscapes, people, animals, and things. Through the creative process of rendering these things he shows the viewer a different perspective and interpretation from his life experience.
